UFO's and Angels

UFO sightings became popular in the United States in the 1940s after the supposed extraterrestrial crash in Roswell, New Mexico, but UFO historians can trace sightings of Unidentified Flying Objects throughout the centuries. Today they are referred to as UAPs (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena), and over the last several decades, there are many theories as to what UFOs or UAPs are?

Some speculate that they are extraterrestrial aircrafts that are used for interstellar travel or that they are both extraterrestrial and extradimensional, traveling through dimensions. Another speculation is that extraterrestrials came to Earth many eons ago and that they reside underneath the Earth or in our oceans. A parallel alternative to this theory is that these beings and their aircraft are not extraterrestrial but terrestrial, being an ancient and hidden race that predated mankind or whose knowledge of their existence became lost to humanity after several cataclysms.

Alternatives to this theory are that they are neither rational nor intelligent beings or aircraft but in fact lifeforms that exist deep within our oceans that can take flight and/or that they live in atmospheres or both oceans and skies. Dubbed Sky Fish, Sky Beasts, or Rods, they resemble jellyfish or amoeba. There's a running theory that the many strange cases of meat and blood raining down on places throughout the world over several centuries were such creatures knocked out of the sky and becoming shredded through the sheer force of the wind upon impact."

The Bible does not make mention of such things, and one can take the absence of direct references to mean that life on different planets or from different dimensions or planes of existence on this planet do not exist? This rationale can be erroneous since many Protestants use this rationale to dismiss the claims of Catholicism or Eastern and Oriental Orthodox Christianity.

Such claims are mistaken, considering the Church predates the Bible as we know it today. Through the authority Christ gave to His Church to teach in matters pertaining to the faith and through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the Catholic Church discerned and compiled the books of the Bible that were divinely inspired and separated those that were historically inauthentic or heretical or simply were a part of the tradition and deposit of faith but not inspired by the Holy Spirit.

In short, we get the Bible from the Church, not the Church from the Bible (2 Thessalonians 2:15), so not everything is in the Bible or uses the same terminology. For example, you will not see the words 'Eucharist' or 'Communion' referencing the reception of the Eucharist, but you see passages on the Bread of Life (John 6:22-59) and warnings of unworthy reception (1 Corinthians 11:27-34). You may not see the Bible using the term Purgatory, but you will see references that some believers will be saved by fire (1 Corinthians 3:13-15) and praying for the dead (2 Maccabees 12:43-46). There is no mention of the Intercession of the Saints, but there is mention of a Great Cloud of Witnesses (Hebrews 12:1), and Martyrs calling out to God for justice (Revelation 6:9-11). Passages also tell us that when we die we become like the Angels in Heaven (Matthew 22:29-30) and that the Angels in Heaven offer the prayers of the Saints as incense to the throne of God (Revelation 8:3-4).

Many of our beliefs as Catholics are in fact in the Bible, and few that are not but rely on Biblical reasoning and historical tradition handed down from the Apostles and their successors. My point is that just because the Bible does not mention extraterrestrials or flying saucers does not mean God did not create other rational beings with eternal souls or lifeforms that remain mysterious to us with all our technology and prideful folly.

In all the years of my research of the strange and mysterious in relation to my Christian faith I have for some time speculated that some UFO'S are not any of the theories I've mentioned but perhaps misunderstood and misidentified Angels specifically Thrones.

"Thrones, the third choir found in Daniel 7:9, Colossians 1:16, are living symbols of God's justice and authority. Thrones called God bearing, bearing God's grace and residing on them he cast his Just Judgment. Thrones are described as beryl colored spokes within spokes with the rims of the wheels covered in eyes. Thrones are also called Ophanim or Galgalim. It is believed Thrones functioned as the wheels for Elijah's fiery chariot . Another purpose could be interpreted to be found in Psalm 91:12, Matthew 4:6, and Luke 4:11 when it says “For he will give his angels charge of you to guard you in all your ways. On their hands they will bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.” Thrones are depicted in Eastern Christian iconography as lifting the feet of Jesus or the Mother of God who happen to both be ancestors of King David who wrote the Psalms. Recent scientific studies on Dyson Spheres theorize these structures which resemble Angelic Thrones could be proof of extraterrestrial civilizations or life. Catholic convert and philosopher Peter Kreeft in his conference and book Angels and Demons states that Angels are the real Extraterrestrials referring to their celestial dwelling and origin."

Angels and Demons

Thrones are thought to be Angels or angelic vehicles, or both. In the Bible, Ezekiel has a vision or sees Angelic beings in the heavens described in Ezekiel 10:12-17 as Cherubim and Thrones, also called Ophanim and Galgalim.

There are also spirits of the air, and that would include both the good Angels and wicked Demons (Daniel 10; Ephesians 2:2).

These spirits of the air include Thrones, but also Dominions, Virtues, and Powers who govern the universe and elements.

It's more likely that many of the modern sightings are experimental aircraft, both foreign and domestic, including both manned and unmanned aircraft. However, we can also take a Biblical interpretation, as many who have testified to Congress or claimed to be government whistleblowers have stated that these UAPs have a spiritual or dimensional nature.
